CVMP 2015 The 12th European Conference on Visual Media Projection was a huge success this year with fascinating talks from Oliver James - Double Negative, Dirk Van Gelder – Pixar and Stuart Adcock – Industrial Light & Magic, to name but a few. Fabio Turchet presented his paper on ‘Extending Implicit Skinning with Wrinkles’ and Nicholas Swafford presented his paper ‘Latency Aware Foveated Rendering in Unreal Engine 4’ during the conference. The conference covered a wide variety of subjects including Visual Effects, Animation, Collaborative Projects, Real-time Computer Graphics and Virtual Reality. We are already looking forward to what this conference will have on offer in 2016, with Darren Cosker as the General Chair. Keep an eye on the CDE blog for more information on this.
Mark Moseley, member of the winning team for the Times Higher Education Award for 'Outstanding Digital Innovation in teaching or research, 2015', was lucky enough to attend the 13th AAATE (Association for the Advancement of Assistive Technology in Europe) conference. The conference was held in Budapest and he has kindly provided details of his experience, which is now available to read on the CDE website.
Fabio Turchet gave a technical talk during the Chaos Group Conference in Sofia, Bulgaria on 25th October. His talk ‘“Introduction to deformable objects models and muscle simulation” was very well received during the conference and now you can see it for yourself, click here to take a look.
