Congratulations to CDE RE Ralph Potter, who successfully defended his thesis titled “Programming models for heterogeneous systems with application to computer graphics”.

Our congratulations also go to Ralph’s supervisory team Dr Russell Bradford from University of Bath, and Alastair Murray of Codeplay.

We wish Dr Potter every success in his future and look forward to hearing about his next adventure.





Digital Economy Network Summer School 2018


CDE are very excited to be hosting the DEN summer school in 2018. 

The summer school will take place on 2nd-3rd July 2018 at the Italian Villa, Poole, Dorset.

DEN Writing Retreats 2018


The DEN CDT Student Writing Retreats for 2018 are now open for registration. As per the 2017 events, these retreats will run over two full days on a residential basis, although locally based CDT students are also welcome to attend on a day-delegate only basis.

These retreats are open to current CDT students within the Network and are free to attend for these individuals. Accommodation (at or very close to the venue), meals and refreshments will be provided/included during the duration of the two days.

Applied Visualisation Forum 2018

This forum brings together engineers and practitioners from the visualisation and virtual reality (VR) sectors to share their expertise, good practice, knowledge of hardware and software advances and application in VR, Augmented Reality (AR), data Capture and analytics.

The format of the event will include industry case studies, discussion panels, demonstrations and plenty of opportunities for networking.

For anyone interested in exploring these opportunities, this networking event will encourage new contacts, partnerships and alliances to be made across multiple sectors, promoting the value of VR and AR technology applications in industry.

UK Digital Economy Crucible


UK Digital Economy crucible is a UK-wide multi-disciplinary leadership programme for ECRs to develop career-altering skills surrounding digital economy research, network and collaborate to achieve societal impact and economic gain.
