SETsquared alongside the Wessex Academic Health Science Network is committed to providing comprehensive business support to healthcare and life sciences start-ups throughout their lifecycle.
The programme of support begins with the Health Innovation Programme. This is an immersive and interactive 3-day training course where you will develop your business idea, analyse your market and potential customers, develop a compelling pitch and look at funding strategies. It culminates with the opportunity to pitch to a panel of investors and healthcare experts, who will provide invaluable feedback for you to take your business forward. Participation in this event is free of charge and supported by the AHSN. Following on from this, there will then be opportunities to take part in specialist surgeries, events at which you can gain access to experts in the NHS, business mentoring and investment showcases.

PhD students working on exciting digital projects can develop their ideas further by applying for a residency at the Digital Catapult Centre in London or at one of our local centres across the UK before 8 January 2017. It's a great opportunity to work at the forefront of the UK's digital sector and drive new innovative activities.
The Festival of Learning will take place at Bournemouth University, 8-12th July 2017. CDE will be taking part this year, we will showcase some of your research. This could be a poster or any interactive demos you may have. We welcome any event suggestions and ideas you have to bring this event to life. We have requested space for Saturday 8th July, the family day, so your display can be fun / interactive and could even showcase previous projects you have completed. We really want to bring CDE to life and raise the profile of the centre and we need your help to achieve this. J Email Zoe Leonard to confirm your participation.

Public Engagement Training
We have organised some joint Public Engagement Training with the other CDTs based at Bath.
This is a fantastic opportunity and we strongly recommend that you participate in the training. We have received really good feedback from others who have taken the courses, and it will also look great on your CV – especially if you go on to use it.
There are two training sessions, one is a ‘Designing a Creative Public Engagement Activity’ workshop and the other is a ‘Non-Academic Writing’ workshop.
The Creative Workshop Training – 15th February 2017 – 14:00 – 17:00 Rooms TBC
Non-Academic Writing – 22nd February 2017 – 14:00 – 16:00 Rooms TBC
Please let Anna Beeton know if you are interested in this and which one (or both) ASAP, as there are limited numbers as the training is shared across 3 CDTs.
