Digital Economy Network (DEN) has a limited amount of funding available to fund travel costs (standard rail tickets/underground tickets) for current Digital Economy CDT PhD students to attend the INTER/SECTIONS Symposium on Friday 16 September 2016 in London, which is being organised/hosted by Media & Arts Technology Students at the Queen Mary University of London.

The Symposium is free to attend and further details on the programme and how to register are available here: https://www.conferize.com/intersections

Event Overview:

For this first Symposium we are discussing Symbiosis in Media, Arts, and Technology. This reflects on how research observes the changing link between ourselves, technology, and our perception of the world. We will discuss the broad research conducted within MAT and how this research is adding to the dialogue of change. To investigate this concept on the day, conversations around the nature of interactivity, empowerment and associated research methodologies hope to build an understanding of current research and uncover future avenues of exploration within the Symbiosis of Media, Arts, Science, and Technology.

The venue is the Art Pavilion, Mile End Park, London, E3 4QY. The event opens at 10,00am and sessions run through to 6.30pm. There is also an evening reception to give an opportunity for networking with MAT CDT students and other researchers and an Open Music Archive DJs for attendees in the evening.

If you would like to attend and apply for the DEN travel funding to attend – please email [email protected].
